The Ritz-Carlton Berlin Emerges from Renovation

The new-look Ritz-Carlton, Berlin has reopened after a 40 million Euro renovation. The hotel now stands out for its 1920s-inspired design with references to the golden era of German cinema.

Resplendent in the gilded glamour of 1920s decor, the hotel is now home to lavish new space for dining and imbibing, refreshed wellness and lounge areas, and sumptuously decorated suites.

Dine on classic German cuisine with a modern twist in the new restaurant POTS where sharing plates can be enjoyed on the newly designed terrace. Select cocktails inspired by perfumes or opt for a bespoke creation in the red-and-gold Fragrances Bar where drawings by Tina Berning line the walls. Enjoy afternoon tea with live piano music in the marble-floored lobby, and indulge in the South American-inspired cuisine of chef Arnd Heissen in the Art Deco Curtain Club.

The hotel’s wellness space has been re-imagined by Carbone Design with the latest fitness equipment, a Finnish sauna and pool. And London-based firm G.A Design redesigned the guest rooms and suites with day-meets-night contrasting colors and geometric patterns fused with reminders of the city’s movie heritage.

Commenting on the hotel’s transformation, General Director at The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin, Robert Petrović, says: “It is wonderful to see how the architecture of the building, with its light sandstone facade, compliments the elegant interior design, forming a harmonious whole. We wanted to make our new Art Deco design story as personal as possible – our guests are our focus.”
