The Skyacht One is the ultra luxurious “yacht that can fly”

The Embraer Lineage 1000E, with its lavish interiors and spacious cabins, is luxury encapsulated in a business jet.

Yet, we’ve never seen it quite like this, presented in the form of a yacht. Enter the Skyacht One – the “yacht that can fly”.

The Skyacht One is the ultra luxurious “yacht that can fly”

Think you’re looking at the inside of a yacht? Think again. This is Skyacht One, a business jet that has been designed like a luxury mutihull.

Conceptualised and configured by design house SottoStudios/LA (which has designed several private jets), the Skyacht One was first unveiled in 2015, but remains in hot demand today, thanks to its ultra swanky interiors.

The private jet has been designed and retrofitted with superbly luxurious, top-of-the-line furnishings to resemble the inside of a navigation-themed luxury multi-hull. The navigation theme is evident throughout the finer details of the aircraft, such as its astrolabes, armillary spheres, and navigation charts.

On board the Skyacht One

Stepping onto the aircraft, one is immediately greeted by a planetary clock that lies embedded in a marquetry mural, inspired by the 15th Century Ducal Palace’s Studiolo of Italy. The rug is a custom-designed Piero Fornasetti, and the normally-plain airplane galley evokes classic British grandeur.

In the middle of the main cabin, sits a Chesterfield Sofa, and a media centre for watching television or surfing the internet. Beautifully beige-leathered recliner armchairs take the place of standard aircraft seats, alongside window “portholes” lined in brass, nickel, and mahogany. The window bezels are finished with adjustable vintage styled leather sunshades that provide some respite from the beaming sun, so that you can get some much-needed shut-eye.

Shagreen “stingray” embellished covers wraps around the valances and tabletops, while the aircraft’s ribbed structure of inlaid brass and wood span the cabin with adjustable lighting.

Even the analogue controls, which are typically found in the constraints of a grey remote control, are contained on an engraved brass, gold, silver and platinum fixture.

The master suite, or the “Captain’s Quarters”, aboard the Skyacht One

Embraer’s nautically inspired SkyPorts also run the length of the ship, while the Intelligent cabin lighting samples the view outside, and changes colours to compliment the time of day.  Adjustable and focusable track lighting runs along the plane’s mahogany beam structure, so you can have a light anywhere you want to be.

The master suite – or the Captain’s Quarters – is intimate and extremely romantic. It is lined in lushly padded suede, underscored by Macassar walls and a similarly panelled ceiling. Fourteenth century maps are the inspiration behind the plush Cellarius carpeting, while the Armillary Sphere – a motif that occurs throughout the aircraft – is softly inlaid on the secret sliding door.

Flying has never been this smooth sailing.
