The St. Regis Reveals Its First Residences in Chicago

Hospitality giant St. Regis has unveiled The Residences: a collection of bespoke branded properties providing 360-degree views of Chicago and Lake Michigan.

Located within the third tallest building in Chicago, The St. Regis is a new, luxurious hotel and residential tower designed by award-winning architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang. The skyscraper, standing 101 stories tall in Chicago’s Lakeshore East neighborhood, has an exoskeleton designed in a crystalline form and is unlike anything else in the city’s skyline.

Comprised of three interconnected towers with a suspended central stem, the building houses a range of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom residences, as well as the soon-to-open St. Regis Chicago hotel. With interiors created by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), each of the residences has been meticulously designed, with interiors inspired by one of four gemstones: amethyst, fluorite, topaz, and sapphire. Each property also features floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the Chicago skyline, lakefront, and Navy Pier.

The four-bedroom Lakeside Residence makes the most of indoor-outdoor living. Located on the 64th floor, it features a light-filled layout to maximize the spectacular views, with high ceilings and just under 5,000 sq ft of open plan living space. This particular home makes use of the fluorite color palette and features honey walnut hardwood floors, golden quartzite counters, and polished bronze hardware and fixtures.

The home begins with a generous foyer opening onto the main living space. The central open plan dining area extends to a family room and kitchen on one side and a living/dining room on the other. The kitchen has Snaidero cabinetry, Gaggenau appliances and a built-in Thermador refrigerator and freezer. But perhaps the stand-out feature of the property is the expansive terrace offering some of the best views of Chicago.

Homeowners at the St. Regis Residences Chicago can enjoy full use of a residents-only space on the 47th floor offering a state-of-the-art fitness suite, sky terrace with outdoor pool, private lounge and dining room, conference center, private media room, golf lounge with simulator, children’s activity room, and even a wine tasting room.

As well as being an architectural masterpiece, the team behind the tower have incorporated multiple features throughout to ensure the residences, and the building itself, are environmentally responsible. As part of their efforts towards becoming LEED silver certified, they diverted more than 75% of construction waste back to the manufacturing process.

Inside the building, you can find high-performance glazing, a light-colored roof to reduce the heat island effect, low-emitting adhesives and paints, and low flow fixtures amongst other eco-focused features.
