In honor of the centennial of the adoption of the 19th Amendment, The Symphonia, Boca Raton’s world-renowned chamber orchestra, will host “A [Virtual] Symphony of Voices: A Celebration of Women in Philanthropy” via Zoom on Wednesday, August 26 beginning at 7 p.m. to celebrate women of outstanding achievement and honor several of South Palm Beach County’s most influential women and philanthropic organizations. The free virtual event will kick off with a live, interactive cocktail hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Zoom Rooms specific to each organization and individual being honored. Registration is required.
The event will feature a presentation on the history of the amendment from the League of Women Voters, profiles of each organization and honoree, and performances by several of the orchestra’s female musicians. Proceeds from donations will benefit both the participating organizations and The Symphonia.
“Our honorees for ‘A Symphony of Voices’ are some of Palm Beach County’s most influential women in philanthropy – women who embody the same spirit as the suffragettes who fought for the vote 100 years ago–seeking to empower the powerless and give a voice to the voiceless,” said Annabel Russell, executive director of The Symphonia.
Please visit The Symphonia’s website, call (561) 376-3848, or email tickets@thesymphonia.org to register for the virtual event.
