The tea terrace

If I told you that a magical place filled with Disney style cinderella carriages, charming interiors filled with regal throne chairs, Royal Albert bone china teawares and of course your very own selfie on coffee. The tea terrace fits the bill with three locations in the UK all inside of House of Fraser. The menus are classy and very English style. Pastel blues, pinks and white is the colour scheme for the interior.  

Afternoon tea at The tea terrace, House of Fraser

It was a Sunday afternoon and another date with girls, drinking tea like royalties are one of our favourite past times. The tea terrace is found on the 5th floor in House of Fraser, walking across kids clothes you will instantly see the cinderella carriages in the corner. Parties with kids, people chilling with hot drinks, chatting away. At first, the service seemed ok but got worst during our time there. We were seated quickly to the tables. Most of my party were just ordering teas, whereas myself and another ordered a cake plus the tea. On the menu is an extensive range of cakes, baked goodies, sandwiches and light lunches with an affordable price tag.

Tea took over 45 mins to be sent to us, and another 15 minutes to have the server get an already pre-sliced cake from the counter. Tea £3.95 served up in pretty Royal Albert china but the waitress couldn’t tell which tea was what and had to watch her sniff the tea from the sprout.  

My orange and lavender cake £4.95 was a big wedge slice, a subtle hint of lavender hits the nose, a candid slice of orange on the top. Dense and crumbly but not moist. Since the service was so slow we went up to the tills to pay the bill. The tea terrace is a nicely decorated tea room but is let down with poor service.
