Who has been an inspiration for you to take up a profession into the entertainment industry?
There could not have been anyone else but enigmatic Madhuri Dixit.
You are professionally trained in a few art forms. How did you manage all of those?
I am professionally trained in dance, music, theatre, art and sports. My parents always encouraged me to have a firsthand experience and then decide on what I want to pursue as a profession.
If not an actor, what was the second choice of career?
I would have chosen to be a dancer otherwise. I have invested quite some of my learning years in classical dance and performed on stage along with my mother. By God’s grace, I have a ‘Dance-a-maze’ my dance studio under which I have choreographed a few independent films as well. If not an actor, I would have devoted more time here.
How would you define your relationship with your mother?
More than being a mother, she has been my idol. Her contributions to Indian art are noted in various thesis and papers by students pursuing their Ph.Ds. She has been my biggest support ever. Being even close to what she is would be a matter of great achievement for me.
Any advice to actors who beginning their journey in the industry?
As an actor, you may have to face a lot of rejections on a daily basis. Do not let the situations bring down your confidence and or hamper your self esteem. Stay calm, believe in yourself, aim for stars and work hard towards achieving it all.
