1000 North
If you’re craving a partridge in a pear tree, there’s no need to wait for the 12 days of Christmas—just pop into Jupiter’s 1000 North any night of the week to sample its Partridge in a Pear Tree libation. “This holiday-inspired cocktail is a variation on a Paloma,” says lead bartender David Lovett. “I wanted to amplify the experience and make it special, and the best way to do that is to add an element of theater.” Lovett combines Volcan De Mi Tierra tequila and La Guita Manzanilla sherry with pear puree, fresh juices, cardamom simple syrup, and a trio of bitters before straining everything into the distinctive glassware. This dramatic cocktail is the perfect complement to the restaurant’s sweeping water views and sports celebrity clientele. “It’s more than just liquid in a glass,” Lovett says. “It’s an experience.”
Tommy Bahama
Checking off your holiday list at chic Jupiter Harbourside shops like the new Lola Dré is bound to work up an appetite. Stop by Tommy Bahama for holiday libations with a Floridian twist. The mainstay will be serving up drinks like Coconut Eggnog Martinis—a lighter version of a traditional tipple—made with Jim Beam, Cruzan coconut rum, a touch of heavy cream, vanilla, and nutmeg. There’s also the refreshing Happy Huladays cocktail, with Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, cranberry ginger syrup, lemon juice, and prosecco. Once Santa finishes his Christmas deliveries, we imagine this is what he sips on his south-of-the-North Pole vacation.
Miracle at Death or Glory
The famed holiday pop-up bar returns to Death Glory again this year at two locations: the bar’s main outpost in Delray Beach and its seasonal space within Rosemary Square. As always, Miracle delivers over-the-top Christmas decor along with a menu of more than 10 alcoholic libations served in festive glassware. The pop-up is a must for Cocktail connoisseurs, who will appreciate drinks such as the Jingle Balls Nog, with brown butter and cinnamon fat-washed cognac, Amontillado sherry, almond milk, cream, sugar, egg, vanilla, and nutmeg, the Snowball Old Fashioned served with a giant ice cube resembling a snowball, or the Bad Santa, a hot beverage made with rum Batavia arrack, black chair tea, date infused-oat milk, and vanilla syrup.
The Parched Pig
Cocktail creations by The Parched Pig’s lead Mixologist, Katy Ziegler are guaranteed to lift the spirits of even the biggest scrooge. Head up to the North County hot spot for libations such as the Christmas-meets-tropical Mele Kalikimaka, crafted with Blackwell dark rum, Laird’s Applejack, seasonal spice-infused Aperol, pineapple and lime juice, cinnamon syrup, and Peychaud’s and cinnamon bitters. Or, for the lover of chestnuts roasting on an open fire, D’s Nutz & Potatoes, a combination of Boyd & Blair vodka, herb and walnut liqueurs, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup, sweet potato purée, and nut and cinnamon bitters with a brown sugar and walnut rim and a torched marshmallow garnish. Those who equate theatrics with the holidays should order one of the smoked beverages, made tableside for a show worthy of Instagram.
City Cellar
Few restaurants can boast a wine selection as dazzling as City Cellar’s. Visit the West Palm Beach Staple—celebrating 20 years in business this month—for a glass of vino on the outdoor patio overlooking Rosemary Square’s new holiday wishing tree, illuminated with 100,000 LED lights. The wine list, which features 500 bottles and more than 70 wines by the glass, tastes even sweeter during happy hour when wines by the glass are half-off or on Mondays when bottles under $75 are half off.
Be sure to book ASAP for Christmas Eve, when City Cellar will offer a can’t miss dinner feast. Think: lobster bisque with house-made cornbread, seared scallops, applewood-smoked osso bucco, halibut dusted with fragrant fennel pollen, earthy porcini fettuccine with duck confit and shaved burgundy truffle in a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese wheel, and egg nog bread pudding for dessert.
