For Laksh Lalwani, Porus had been the turning point of his career that transformed him as an artist and individual too
Starting your career from Warrior High to becoming a lead of the most talked show ‘Porus’. Describe your journey.
The journey has been fantastic. I was at the right place at the right time. The opportunities came my way and I chose them wisely. Porus had been the big turning point. I had never imagined that I would get into a character so much. It has transformed my individuality and I have grown as a person as well as an artist.
You started at a very young age and have achieved a lot. What are your thoughts?
It’s true that I started quite early. I am blessed to have my family who supported my decision. I guess I was lucky to get one opportunity after the other to showcase my talent. One must constantly work hard, as hard work is the only investment which never fails.
You had been into controversies too. How do you see that in your career?
I don’t think I had any major controversies. My friendship with Rashami Desai, who was my co-star in Adhuri Kahaani Hamari was blown out of proportion to the extent of people talking about our 10 years age difference and marriage plans. My focus is my career and my career is doing all the talking. All controversies died a natural death.
From working in youth-centric shows to historical drama like Porus, what have you learned from each project and you carry it with yourself in life?
I have learned to be patient and have realized that history shows demand more of you than any other show. I will remember for life that patience and hard work take you places. If your intentions are always right you will eventually win the game of life. The battle is more with yourself rather than the outside world.
What success means to you?
Success is a subjective thing and its definition may vary from person to person. Success to me is enjoying your work and living with happiness. My family and friends keep me grounded. For me, everything else is temporary but my goodwill and self-respect is permanent.
What according to you makes you look sexy?
I am told that my eyes and voice are very sexy. It’s overall personality which makes anyone attractive. I follow my heart and it reflects in my persona.
You are one of the hottest eligible bachelors in the television industry, what kind of girl you wish to date?
It’s a huge compliment. For now, I am very much focussed on Porus and I am stationed at Umbergaon. I am not looking for any relationship. My body, mind, and soul are in sync with my work. I am married to my work. Also, I am a very private person and not an open book. But, if I ever get a chance, I would like to date a girl who is simple and can make me smile and laugh in a moment.
You are a fitness freak. Any comment.
Fitness is a way of life. My show Porus required me to transform my physicality. I have worked very hard to build my physique for the character. Now, it’s a part of my daily lifestyle.
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I see myself as an actor who works on his own terms and conditions. I want to travel the world and live life to the fullest.
Does Laksh like the idea of falling in love?
The idea is attractive but at the moment Laksh is Porus and Porus is Laksh. (winks)
