#ThisIsTheLife – Xmas baking masterclass with Richard Bertinet and Lurpak butter

Lurpak, has just launched their new Slow Churned butter to the public. You should already see the new butter in the shelves in supermarkets. I have already been sent a sample prior the baking master class but wanted to see what goodies Richard Bertinet would come up with. The event was held at L’atelier des Chefs being one of the early birds Rosana and I, eagerly awaited for the rest to arrive and me.

The new slowed churned butter has been designed to make the perfect match for spreading butter or melting food. Richard Bertinet an expert in baking showcased some delicious Christmas themed treats that went well with the Lurpak butter.

Delectable treats were on display, from the “Bertinet Bakery“ warm scones, chocolate orange crumpets, and spice tea buns filled the table. As we scoffed down the treats Richard said he be demonstrating the orange and chocolate crumpets and mini loafs.

Richard prepared the mix for chocolate and orange crumpets; it smelt so delicious and tasted just as good. We left the mix to settle and moved on to kneading some buns.

I completely failed to follow the kneading techniques; the dough kept getting stuck between my fingers. A moment came were the scene from “Ghost” was replayed the lucky lady was in the arms of the French man helping her.

The crumpets mixture was finally ready, and we headed over to the stoves to start frying. A potato was used to soak up excess oil and distribute the right amount of oil on the pans.

The fresh hot crumpets were so good with the creamy texture of the Lurpak slow churned butter. An absolute match made in heaven, washed down with bubbles.

The buns came out the oven, and we were all very pleased with the results, I did try and attempt to create a hedgehog out of the mixture and failed miserably.

I enjoyed the event a lot and my fellow foodie followers have envied the new Lurpak butter. It is now available in stores, and comes in a lovely metal tin; savour a “this is the life” moment with the new slow churned butter by Lurpak.

Some recipes will be shared over the following weeks to boast the festive season.
