KALKI’s design and aesthetic sensibility seek inspiration from all walks of life – be it haute couture trends and forecasts from fashion destinations across the globe to the homebound handloom traditions of India. When asked about their take on the upcoming wedding season trend, Nishit Gupta, spokesperson of the brand said, “The wedding fashion calendar is already time-jumping a season into the future.

While wedding style might not change all that drastically from season to season, there still are noteworthy trends, details and fun updates to take a peek at and get a jump on right now, especially if you’re in the midst of planning your own big day. While pastel blues and vivid lilacs are popping up throughout the wedding season, fuchsia pink and bottle greens reign as the bridal colours of choice this season.
From the lightest, barely-there blush hues to embroider floral to ombré dessert-like flares, vibrant colours are major for weddings next year! Massively plunging necklines are jumping into the mix. Also, while the off-shoulder trend isn’t going anywhere, open back trend & full sleeves blouse styles are becoming a ‘thing’ in the bridal fashion. There is also a nice play of sheer elements ranging from embellished, modesty cut-out panels to full-on illusion embroidered bodices, where the brides are quite happy experimenting with.
The two classic elements that are topping the charts right now are the long trains & veils, to create a sort of drama and glamour; brides are trying the two dupatta styling one as the veil and other as the back train for the bridal entry, which is again trending. Slit sleeves, cape jackets, ruffle skirts, peplum saree styles, pre-draped sarees are going to be everywhere this wedding season. Traditional necklines, scallop embroideries to teaming it with organza dupattas are again going to be huge this time. From frothy, tulle layers to fondant delicate hems, ruffles are ruling the gowns. All in all pleasant surprises did emerge on the trends front for this wedding.”
