Updates and Recommendations.

I've been rather busy since I returned from America last Thursday, so I thought I'd give you my updates! Last Friday we saw the Olympic Torch Relay in Guildford, and Rizzle Kicks were performing before the torch arrived, so me being me talked my way through to the front using my usual exaggerated truth (lie) of 'Excuse me please, I need to get my brother, he's just down there *point to random young boy child at the front*' It always works a treat and saves me from having to get physical. Rizzle Kicks were awesome.

As I was right at the front, I managed to get quite a few cool photos...there are quite a few of them, so I found it really difficult choosing which ones to put up on here :/

The crowds were huge - 5000 people apparently!

Once again I lied my way to the front (jokes, no one cared about my poor little brother this time - which meant... *sigh* I had to get physical).
Fun fact: The man who carried the torch in the photo above, also carried it for the 1948 Olympics!

After the torch relay, and with bruised elbows, I headed into London and went to VQ for a late dinner with a friend (cough) to check out the new re-furb and new menu. I know I'm slightly biased, but seriously, it is ah-mazing. We both had Swordfish with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious, and very reasonably priced! The new refurb looks great, the new menu is fabulous, and the photographs on the walls are awesome, and they were taken by one of their waitresses!

Sorry for the terrible Blackberry photo - I forgot to take my camera :(

It was night-time when we went and I forgot my camera, so I thieved some of VQ's photos from their Twitter account to show you guys.
Once we'd tried and tested VQ, got a little tipsy, and worked out whether it was tastier to dip the Swordfish into the sour cream, or the sweet potato fries into the sour cream, (we concluded it was the sweet potato fries) we went to the Ritz Club for drinks, before heading to the cinema to see The Dark Knight Rises - epic film, soooo good! A must see, but very long (3 hours!).

The next day after a lazy afternoon of falling sleep in the club arm-chairs and catching up with a friend or two, I headed to the London Coliseum to see the Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, performed by the Cape Town Opera. I'd been wanting to see it since I was eleven years old, and it was absolutely incredible. The only downside was that I was severely jetlagged and had hardly slept the night before due to the film finishing at 3am, so kept nodding off during the first half. Unfortunately for the audience around me I sleep talk and snore - huge apologies everyone! Thankfully I guzzled a coca-cola during the interval and managed to stay awake for the second half.

So there we go, my rather busy weekend!
