Vans’ Horror Collection Screams Bloody Murder

Vans‘ new footwear collection brings the famous Cardi B phrase, “These is bloody shoes,” to new heights.

Next month, the sneaker giant will pay homage to all your favorite horror films including The ShiningIt, and A Nightmare on Elm Street with a range of gory kicks.

Earlier this week, Vans shared a video clip teasing a selection of the spooky styles. There’s a Sk8-Hi printed with yellow graphics from the original poster for The Shining. The scary cherry on top, the sneaker’s midsole is scrawled with “REDRUM.”

A nod to It, the Authentic is peppered with red balloons that reference Pennywise’s party favor of choice.

Freddy Krueger’s striped sweater serves as the base for another Sk8-Hi, finished off with blood splatters across the upper and midsole.

Lastly, a Friday the 13th slip-on features a rendering of Jason Voorhees’s terrifying mask.

This isn’t the first time horror has served as a jumping off point for fashion. Just today, Wacko Maria dropped a range of shirts, outerwear, and even plates starring Anthony Hopkins as cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal.

For Fall/Winter 2019, Undercover presented a collection inspired by Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake. Just a couple of years earlier, the brand closed its Spring/Summer 2018 show with a pair of models referencing the creepy twins from The Shining.

And we can’t forget Supreme’s Hellraiser collab, featuring various Pinhead-printed wares.

Vans has yet to announced a release date for its horror collection, but you can expect the spooky range to drop around Halloween. In the meantime, we’ll be figuring out which Kardashian to dress as come October 31.
