Velas Resorts, the group behind Mexican hotspots such as Casa Velas, Grand Velas Los Cabos and Grand Velas Riviera Narayit, has launched a new 100 Heroes campaign, which aims to provide health heroes with complimentary vacations as thanks for their tireless work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The ‘Let’s Be Thankful’ campaign aims to gift at least 100 healthcare workers with an all-inclusive three-night stay at the Velas Vallarta resort. To reach this goal, the group is asking for guests to donate to the fund and has promised to match each donation. Additionally, for every five nights booked at a Velas hotel before April 30, the group will give the guest an extra night for free, as well as add an additional night’s stay into the prize pot.
The campaign launched in February, when the group first opened up donations. In March, it called on the public to nominate a healthcare hero who they think deserves to enjoy a luxury vacation; now, voting is open to help choose the most deserving winners of the 370 nominees.

Over the course of the last two months, the public donations and Velas Resorts’ matched contributions have brought the ‘100 Heroes’ campaign to 102 stays for healthcare workers, surpassing the initial target. However, the resort is striving to provide vacations to as many nominees as possible, so will continue to match donations and reservations until the end of the month.
Velas Resorts president Eduardo Vela has said: “At Velas Resorts, we want to thank true heroes because their unflagging spirit is what gives us more hope to move forward.”
The winners’ three-night complimentary stay can be redeemed at the Velas Vallarta resort, which is situated on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the region of Jalisco. The expansive family resort offers an impressive range of amenities, including a holistic spa, multiple restaurants and bars, private beach access and fitness facilities. Guests can also enjoy the Marina Vallarta Golf Club which surrounds the Velas Vallarta resort.
