Peter England Mr. India World 2016 Vishnu Raj Menon will represent India at the prestigious Mr. World 2018 pageant to be held in Manila, the capital of Philippines. Vishnu was recently in the capital and gave us a sneak peek of his preparations for the big day. As he gears up for the game, he wishes to present the best version of himself. Excerpts from the interview:
Congratulations on winning Mr. India -World 2018, how has life changed post winning the title?
Thank you so much! Life has been great after winning the title. The name and fame gave me satisfaction and work in the fashion industry. I got the chance to feel the essence of walking the ramp as a showstopper for famous designers like Nivedita Saboo, Rocky S, Mehraab, Aslam Khan, Stephin Lalan and more. I also got a chance to be the face of Peter England. And the big news came in when I finally grabbed a South Indian movie (Malayalam).
Share some special memories of your childhood and what was your childhood dream?
I was born and brought up in a small village of Kerala called Chembuthara. We had 4 elephants in our village and I grew up playing with them. My friends and I used to play football with elephants. During my childhood days, I always wanted to become a mahout and be around elephants. (laughs)
You’re a civil engineer and a biker, what all are your hobbies and passion?
Well, I love cooking and playing football. I am very passionate about acting and singing as well.
How is Vishnu gearing up for the big day and what is your strength?
It’s a dream come true that I got a chance to represent my country on a prestigious international pageant platform, Mr. World. I’m working like a dog to keep my best foot forward. My strength lies hard work, confidence, physicality, and stage presence.
What is your biggest challenge and why?
My Biggest challenge is to get rid of my South Indian accent. When it comes to public speaking, India stands out of all the other countries and I don’t want to get biased because of my accent.
How is Vishnu Raj Menon as a person, and how does he spend his day?
My day starts at 6 am with 30 push-ups and 30 squats. It is followed by cleaning my house, preparing my breakfast and then I leave for my session. The evening is dedicated to workout, family, and friends. My day ends with the same 30 push-ups and 30 squats. (winks)
