*** The Waldorf Astoria is currently closed for a complete renovation.
The first time I visited the Waldorf Astoria was back in 2009 for wine tasting at the Peacock Alley Bar & Lounge, it was then that I knew that this is the place I want to stay at some point in my life. When planning my 30th birthday retreat in my favourite city in the world, that is obviously New York , I knew that there was only one address that I wished to make my home for the next few days, and that was the Waldorf Astoria, a landmark that must be experienced. From the check-in stage my stay was made memorable!
We were assisted by a very helpful young gentleman named Tim Trammell, who made sure that we got the best view room possible and a big thank you goes for the reservations team for the upgrade to a Luxury Guest Room on the 24th floor which was amazing! Tim presented me with an envelope and wished me happy birthday, inside was postcards of the hotel and two vouchers for complimentary drinks! Tim also did something very special for a blogger, and that was provide me with complimentary Wi-Fi in our room. Thank you Tim for the kind gesture. It’s the little things that make the difference! On our first night at the hotel we had dinner at the Bull and Bear Steakhouse where the General Manager was consequently Greek, his name is George Pappas who was very kind to offer us some dishes that we had to try. So if you are Greek and find yourself in New York, you must definitely try this place.
Our room was indeed amazing and the service was impeccable! For someone who comes from the hospitality industry and has traveled, worked and stayed in luxury hotels, this place gets my rating of 100%, a seal of approval from Passion for xoxoES. And as it goes for my mother who has traveled even more extensively than I have, she loved the Waldorf Astoria and quoted saying that I must definitely recommend it on my blog. A big thank you to the staff and management for making this a remarkable stay and a milestone birthday that I will never forget! The Waldorf Astoria is definitely the address that I will return to!
