Casablanca, who emerged as a surprise New Balance partner in early 2020 when the Parisian label debuted the 327, shared yet another New Balance sneaker collaboration during its SS22 Paris Fashion Week show.
This time, Casablanca gave us our first look at a tonal version of the New Balance XC72. The XC72 was also part of Casablanca’s FW21 collection, previewed in an orange and green colorway. The pairs on show as part of the SS22 collection feature more subtle colorways, combining different off-white tones with hits of orange and red.
The New Balance CX72 is designed by Charlotte Lee, who was also in charge of the 327 and 237 models, and features the same ’70s design inspiration. The outsole, which was extended across the heel on the 327, is yet again a defining feature of the XC72, featuring two different types of treads, separated down the middle, as Joe Grondin previewed on Instagram here.
It’s highly likely that we’ll see the first iterations of the Casablanca x New Balance CX72 arrive in the coming months, before the tonal colorways drop next Spring.
Take a look at the SS2 colorways above and stay tuned for more information.
