Polo players, show jumpers, and spectators are rubbing elbows this season at Wellington’s new Polo Bar & Grill. Owners Gary Fellers and Jeanette Sassoon have introduced a refreshed energy to the Polo West Golf Club restaurant—which overlooks a 12-acre polo field—with approachable fare, playful cocktails, and weekly events to rally the horse community. The husband-and-wife team, who are longtime Wellington residents, recently launched Big Dog’s Night Out on Thursdays, inviting diners to bring their dogs to the pet-friendly patio for training and agility classes, all to benefit Big Dog Ranch Rescue. There’s also Friday Night Lights, which spotlights competitive showjumping and dressage, and Western in Wellington Night on Saturdays with family activities and country music. Polo is de rigueur on Sundays during the bottomless mimosa and Bloody Mary brunch prepared by chef Victor Irizarry. Hallmarks of his menus include fresh seasonal ingredients and produce from Swank Specialty Produce in Loxahatchee. (561-429-2049)
