What Prestige Editors Want: Dara’s Christmas Wish List

Dear Santa,

Let’s get down to business and skip the pleasantries, as I’d say we’re pretty well acquainted by now. I don’t know what your surveillance elves have told you, but whatever you’ve heard, I can explain.
It’s been a tough year and everyone (including you) deserves to kick back a little. So I’ve swapped your warm milk for whisky – don’t worry, I know you’re in the passenger seat – and no, this isn’t a bribe.
If I haven’t made it on to the nice list, I’d like to negotiate for some sort of credit arrangement. I’ll be extra good, as the list of wants is pretty long this year. I’m also a realist, so instead of mailing you my list of 31,727 things I want, I’ve narrowed it down to just 10 things I really can’t live without. So, see what you can do.
Until next year, big guy.

Love
Dara
PS: Please get the sizes right this year.

The new Serpenti by Alexander Wang x Bvlgari (HK$46,200) is the ultimate carry-it-all for parties. What’s more, it doubles as a jewellery piece with its gold-plated snake cuff and serpent-head clasp.

Come Boxing Day morning, knitwear is my ensemble of choice. The Barnsley Baby cashmere bottoms (HK$21,300) are great to lounge in while recovering from Christmas Day festivities.

While I may not be physically there when the ball drops in Times Square, nothing quite compares to Christmas in NYC, which is why a little bite out of the Big Apple is what I ask — for nostalgia’s sake. The New York Collection Eagle series (price on request) recalls fond childhood memories at this time of year.

I’ve never been a huge fan of surprises, but an Advent calendar really gets me into the festive spirit. So please make an early delivery arrangement for this Beauty Advent (HK$2,300), so I can count down to Christmas Day.

APL

Like most of my New Year’s resolutions, some element of fitness is involved. It isn’t too hard to motivate me as long as I have the right activewear. Something like this Women’s Techloom Breeze in Simply Rose/Nude (HK$1,589) should do it.

If the gift of sight isn’t a fundamental right, I don’t know what is — I’m talking about the rimless titanium frames from the træ+buffalo collection (starting at HK$11,000) to be exact. And if you think I’ve been extra good this year, I won’t mind a few decorative diamonds.

What’s Christmas without a little (or a lot of) bling? Plus, I’ve been told green is my colour for 2020. I can see myself wearing these emerald cabochon drop earrings (price upon request) from Christmas onwards.

Celebrations call for Champagne! The new Belle Époque Rosé 2012 (HK$2,800) is a pretty, pink bubbly with which to toast in the New Year.

9 /10

New Year, new me. My monochrome closet needs something with a bit more embellishment. An embroidered kimono-style black velvet jacket (HK$5,790) would be a nice sparkly addition.

If Christmas is truly magical, then looking years younger shouldn’t be impossible. But if that’s too much to ask for, then I’ll take the next best thing — the #SturmGlow facial by Dr Barbara Sturm (HK$1,500- $2,700).
