What was the last meal on the Titanic?

More than 100 years after its fateful final voyage, the story of the Titanic continues to captivate the world. Now, Restaurant Petrus at the Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong is transporting diners back to that long-gone era by paying homage to the menu served in the transatlantic liner’s first-class dining room.

The exclusive 10-course menu uses as many of the original ingredients as possible, but with a modern twist, and each dish is designed to showcase Chef Ricardo Chaneton’s exceptional style of French cuisine. Among the dishes, diners can expect roast guinea fowl, filet mignon and Waldorf pudding, all of which can be complemented by a premium wine selection typical of the early 20th century that’s handpicked by Master Sommelier Yohann Jousselin.

“The Titanic has always fascinated people,” Chaneton says. “Here is an opportunity to be taken into its mystifying world through fine food and wines.”

The menu is available on April 14 only and priced at HK$2,388 a head – or HK$25,888 with wine pairings – so to experience something that’s genuinely one-of-a-kind, make a reservation at Restaurant Petrus now.
