Whitney Way Thore Gets Real About Dating Again, Having Kids and More After Chase Severino Split

She’s not holding back. My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore opened up about her dating life and whether or not having kids was in her future on August 11, three months after she ended her engagement to ex-fiancé Chase Severino.

“I don’t think I’ll be interested in dating anyone for a long time,” the 36-year-old revealed during an Instagram Q&A session. When asked if she would like to have children down the line, Whitney responded, “I definitely would like the opportunity, but considering that I’m single, 36 and have PCOS, I’m not sure it’s in the cards for me.”

PCOS is a common hormonal disorder that can cause enlarged ovaries with small cysts, which can lead to infertility, among other symptoms.

The reality starlet also got real about what she’s looking for in her next partner — whenever she’s ready to take the plunge back into the dating world. “Someone who is intelligent,” Whitney told an inquiring fan. “Someone who is confident in themselves and what they want regardless of what others think, someone who loves me the way I love them.”

It’s no surprise to see the TLC star doubling down on what she wants in her love life. Whitney revealed she broke off her engagement in May after her former partner got his ex-girlfriend pregnant.

“After experiencing a lot of ups and downs and still living apart, Chase reconnected with a woman with whom he has had a long history,” the North Carolina native announced on Instagram at the time. “Chase recently told me this information and the fact that it had resulted in a pregnancy. Chase will be a father in October.”

Naturally, one fan couldn’t help but inquire about how Whitney has been holding up since the split, which came in the middle of quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic. “I’ve been having a really hard time recently keeping a positive mindset and doing anything for personal growth, but I obsess about it constantly,” she explained. “Trying to remind myself it’s a weird time and it’s OK to not be doing great.”
