If you have been following me on instagram, you probably already know that Edward and I spent the last week in Sonoma County. Definitely one of our favorite destinations in California, we make this trip several times a year, and each visit feels unique and special. This time was no exception of course! You see, this visit was particularly magical because we found a new favorite hotel and I just couldn’t wait to share it with you guys!
A perfect retreat right in the heart of wine country, MacArthur Place felt like home away from home the moment we got there. Cozy, inviting, and serene, it had a very relaxed and laid back vibe which we particularly enjoyed. The grounds are specious yet somehow everything is near by, so my daily walk to the hotel’s coffee shop (you know I can’t function without coffee) took just under a minute!
If you guys end up staying at this property, Edward and I highly recommend Layla, a Mediterranean kitchen restaurant that serves both amazing breakfast and dinner. Normally, we venture out for food, but this time around we ended up having all of our meals there and it was always amazing! The outdoor patio was cute and inviting, which made our breakfasts feel like an experience rather than just a mere meal. Honestly, we loved everything about it from the incredibly friendly staff, to food (Please try avocado toast! It is seriously delicious), to decor, to just incredibly laid back and relaxed atmosphere!
Our absolutely favorite part was of course the rooms! Set up like little private or semi private cottages, the rooms are really spacious and light! We loved to calming color palette (warm caramel brown and vanilla tones, with just a touch of black), the chic modern elements combined with more traditional country decor, the private patio, the fireplace, the gigantic bathroom with his and hers sinks and the little cozy touches like fluffy pillows and throws which made this place feel very home-like! Honestly, I’m a bit of a workaholic, so normally it’s hard for me to take time off and to truly relax, but something about this particular place really helps to shift your focus to right here and right now, to enjoy the moment!
