Yat Lok restaurant 一樂燒鵝 is a tiny family run restaurant located in Stanely St, Central Hong Kong. Awarded One Michelin Star small square tables surround the restaurant, cuttings from newspapers and posters proudly hang on the walls. We went one evening with hardly any queues and a quick waiting time for a table.
The owner has a special recipe for his roasted meats, using over 20 spices and the menu consist of basic dishes. Go with the two roast types of meat for the bargain price $125 making sure you try the signature roast goose dish.
Glossy coated finish thin skin underneath is a layer of fat, juicy meat is full of flavour, a soy-based sauce is over the top with a pillow fluffy rice. Char siu (roast pork) is equally as tasty, heaven on a plate. What I love about roast goose over duck it’s less fatty and more tender. Service is quick, typical in Hong Kong in and out the door as soon as you finish.
