I decided one afternoon to venture out to cakeboy, after seeing one of my instagram friends posting a picture of cakeboy’s cakes. Eric Lanlard’s luxury cake boutique is in the heart of Battersea; Juniper Drive is absolutely a beautiful area to be in. Cakeboy was easy to find from the wandsworth rail station, as soon as you step in you are greeted with tills and shop front, the left is a cookery school and the right cakes for sell on display.
Now, the cakes where an eyeful, I was overwhelmed by every inch of detail. They all looked so mouth watering. I finally settled with the salted caramel cake, recommended by the staff, as I was being indecisive to pick one.
Eric was on the table next to me, and I looked over with curiosity, and the afternoon tea the guests were given. The presentation of the afternoon tea set, looked amazing. The salted caramel cake mousse was nice, a little on the sweet side. The layered puff pastry was a little difficult to eat with a fork, the edible chocolate balls and leafs was delicious.
Next time time I want to go all out and have the afternoon tea!
