For its most recent Hublot Loves Art collaboration, the luxury Swiss watch manufacturer has teamed up with French contemporary artist Marc Ferrero to reveal a limited edition Big Bang One Click timepiece that pays tribute to heroines of the 21st century. Inspired by comics, pop culture and his travels, the artist is best known for his distinctive "Storytelling Art" series that fuses urban feminine silhouettes with 1980s comic aesthetics.

[inline-quote author="Marc Ferrero"]"When I am asked âWhat innovative and modern idea develops your painting?â Without hesitation, I answer fusion... Using different graphic styles (cubism, impressionism, surrealism, figurative, etc.) on the same plane or over my worksâjust like a film director uses special effects to tell a storyâwill always represent an extremely exciting challenge for me"[/inline-quote]
Art connoisseurs familiar with Ferrero's iconic lipstick emblem will be especially pleased by this capsule collection comprising the One Click Marc Ferrero Steel Red and One Click Marc Ferrero Steel Turquoise which is limited to just 50 pieces per tone.

A closer inspection of the lacquered dial showcases a femme fatale donning dark shades while applying lipstick, accompanied by smaller faces strategically placed to resemble the character's flowing tresses. Framing this enigmatic portrait is the bezel decorated with sparkling  stones in either blue topaz or red spinel.

The newest Big Bang by Hublot pays homage to Mexicoâs Day Of The Dead
Colourful and fantastical, the new Big Bang One Click Calavera Catrina by Hublot is the latest interpretation of the  gorgeous skull motif which not only has made waves in contemporary art, design, and fashion, but is also a prominent symbol for Mexico's mystical Day of The Dead that takes place yearly on November 1st. First revealed during the recent Salón Internacional de Alta Relogeria (SIAR) that was held in Mexico City, the Big Bang One Click Calavera Catrina simply captivates with its psychedelic design that beautifully portrays the colourful traditions of the centuries-old celebration.

At first glance, the symbolic sugar skull of the Big Bang One Click Calavera Catrina immediately brings to mind visions of extravagant parades and parties as well as revellers donning vivid makeup and costumes dancing and singing as a sign of respect for departed loved ones who have journeyed to the great beyond. There are certainly plenty of myths and legends  behind the origins of this distinctive symbol, but most believe it has to do with a print called "La Calavera Catrina" which was etched by Mexican artist JosÊ Guadalupe Posada in 1910.
Presented in a 39mm case, each timepiece showcases a wondrous display of eye-catching shades including fuchsia, purple, green, turquoise and blue. A closer inspection of the timepiece reveals a lacquered dial in either black or white. Showcased on this dial is the mesmerising sugar skull which has been perfectly framed by a bedazzling bezel set with an astounding 42 sapphires in all shades of the rainbow.

This sugar skull symbol also appears on the leather strap of the watch which features an interchangeable One Click system that allows these straps to be easily swapped at a push of a button. Beating at heart of the timepiece is the HUB1710, a self-winding mechanical movement that comes equipped with a 50-hour power reserve. The Big Bang One Click Calavera Catrina is available in three limited editions: 100 pieces in stainless steel, 100 pieces black ceramic version and 50 pieces for the luxurious King Gold version.
