fall’s last fight, the sun sets and the season changes

The sky is buttery cream, blurring softy with the tree tops. Flashes of gold flicker between the branches, and through the window one can hardly imagine the forbidden cold that lies just on the other side of the glass. The waters glow like crystalized roses, fading into grey as it slowly disappears over the horizon. The sun sinks a smidge more, and the golden trees transform into dark shadows against the intensely glowing sky of pinks, orange and gold. For a flash, all colors become vibrant, one last hurrah before the sun retreats for the night. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | felt hat c/o:LULUS | knit dress c/o:LULUS | sherpa vest c/o:LULUS | velvet pumps c/o:LULUS Grey, quiet, stillness. Dusk folds over the earth, a foreshadowing of the season to come. The crisp chill of the morning past is pushed away and replaced with a haunting cold. The motion forces leaves from their branches, fluttering to the ground in defeat. Solders lost in the fight of the season’s bitter sweet transformation. Darkness. …

island getaway deep into the ocean

Crossing borders between dreams and reality, the mind is lost in overwhelming bliss and contentment in those moments where the world disappears except for what’s right in front of you. Staring into the ocean, you can almost feel the world spin beneath you as you remain motionless, caught it the moment and held by a force more powerful than any burden you may have left behind. On an island or in a dream, the certainty of which fades, and it couldn’t matter less. The feeling is strangely empowering, as the world and all who are in it are powerless to enter that moment and change the winds sweeping through the air. A summer getaway – never too often. Truly all I want and ever need – endless motion with you beside the ocean. Another look into the Nicobar Islands, India on a recent summer’s adventure. The dark rocks jutting up from the sea look almost ominous from afar, but as movement draws them near they’re smooth and wet beneath your feet from the ever tumbling …

faded, so lost

A soft crackling noise can be heard from below, tiny crabs letting loose of the rocks, fleeing for the sea with the sound of our feet landing on each new stone. The air smells like salt with a hint of coconut breeze between, or perhaps that’s just what’s left of the island’s native beverage of choice lingering on my bottom lip. I lift my eyes slightly to see his feet leading the way, and up just farther into the expanse of the never ending horizon of the sea. After a 24 hour delay, we made it – this was India, on the shores of Port Blair of the Nicobar Islands. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR & KRISTINA PETRICK | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | location:PORT BLAIR IN THE NICOBAR ISLANDS, INDIA | dress c/o:JOAH BROWN After much ado, welcome into a few of the first moments of the travels across the world to a tropical escape tucked just far enough away to escape the touch of most human contact. Like a hidden corner of the earth left just …

soaking in the nyc quin penthouse

Experiences are the chapters of life that shape lifestyles and make us who we are. Stepping out of your door to feel the breeze caress your face as you scope your surroundings and soak it in. Today is a new day. The steps we take are the moving force to what the rest of the body will experience – the sights, the smells, the sounds. You control the direction, so walk purposefully. Spent the weekend soaking in a bit of luxury at The Quin Hotel. Met with friend (and incredible blogger & photographer) Elma – the day started with coffee and croissants and evolved into shots from porch to windowsill. The company and setting couldn’t have been better for the afternoon. photography:ELMA BEGANOVICH from AMRA & ELMA | location:THE QUIN HOTEL PENTHOUSE | mesh overlay crop c/o:PREMONITION | mesh overlay skirt c/o:PREMONITION | t cuff c/o:GRAMERCI DESIGN | crosbody bag c/o:WANDERERWANDERER Light was pouring in through the ample windows of the spacious 3-story penthouse, and the forecasted rain showers held off as if just for us until the very …
