Happy near the end of the week fashion friends. In working with some amazing brands the past several weeks, I found it funny getting back into the mode of regular shoot-days to pack all the goodness in a short timeframe. Today is a new day. The steps we take are the moving force to what the rest of the body will experience – the sights, the smells, the sounds. You control the direction, so walk purposefully. Spent the weekend soaking in a bit of luxury at The Quin Hotel. Met with friend (and incredible blogger & photographer) Elma – the day started with coffee and croissants and evolved into shots from porch to windowsill. how to be a fashion blogger without an instagram husband
We’ve all been there. The perfect outfit lined up hanging neatly on a rack, a beautiful (warm) slightly-overcast day that’s screaming “take photos” all leading up to… no photographer. The dread. And as many of you know, keeping up with a blog isn’t as easy as it looks… Hours can be spent poured over one post – and throw in a wrench like that – the blogging game can be seriously thrown out of whack. (If only we could clone ourselves…) With the viral video “Instagram Husband” I was forced a slight chuckle imagining so many similar scenarios in which I and my photographer had similarly sacrificed normal life for the sake of just the right shot. What would I do without him… sigh. Until that one day… he decides to go on vacation – and I am without him. The blog must go on, and though it was a bit of a challenge – I was able to put together some nice content during his 10 day getaway. The secret: check it out. Here …

And I often wonder how much that impacts the way I see the world today. Reading has a way of expanding the mind and imagination in ways that nothing else really can. It’s like a type of magic, transporting you into a place that doesn’t exist, but in many ways feels more real than reality itself. Working as a Creative Writer not only for this space, but also as a career has been an eye opening experience, and in many ways brings me back to that time as a child. After all, storytelling (whether for children’s books or branded message) really aren’t so far apart. It’s that pathway to mutual understanding – an emotional connection …

Took a dive, started on a whim, and ended up being one of the most incredible adventures I could have asked for – Happy 1st year anniversary to day in my dreams. The experience is beyond what I could ever have expected it to be, and you have made it that. Thank so much for supporting me from the very beginning through this first year. Your encouragement and inspirations have not only kept me blogging, but also brightened many days in my own personal life, like a close group of friends along for one of life’s many journeys. Having this opportunity to take something that is a passion and inner release for me, and being able to share that and interact with so many incredibly talented people, brands, and companies – is something I will be forever grateful for.
