If there was ever such a thing as a capsule bag, Louis Vuitton's capucines is it.With its minimalist and no-frills approach, it can truly take you through the day and on any occasion.

Named after the very first boutique Louis Vuitton opened along Rue Neuve-des- Capucines in 1854, the Capucines bag with its architectural form and minimalistic style is fast becoming one of the French brand’s most recognisable and beloved designs. While adhering to a contemporary and utilitarian motif, the Capucines stays true to Louis Vuitton’s DNA of clean lines and a timeless, sophisticated approach, making it widely appealing to both high fashion and high-street fans alike.

First unveiled in 2013, the Capucines continues to reinvent itself season after season. This summer, Louis Vuitton has come out with vibrant monochrome colours, including snow, eau de rose, dragon fruit and banane. Made in supple Taurillon leather, the Capucines bag comes with a plexiglass handle, Ayers skin finish and enlarged shoulder straps - tweaks that allow for more ways to carry the bag, as well occasions to use them.

This summer, the wicker iteration of the Capucines - otherwise referred to as the Musette - is available in a caramel leather shade. The Capucines was first offered in two sizes - the GM and MM - but due to its popularity and requests from clients, Louis Vuitton expanded the range to include smaller options: PM, MM, BB and Mini. With the creation of this bag, the goal was to be able to extend the Louis Vuitton range to include collections that were purer, cleaner and less logo-laden, appealing to a clientele that didn’t quite fancy the monogram-focused collections.

The Capucines is sophisticated, contemporary and edgy, and finished off with the LV initials embossed prominently but ever so tastefully at the front of the bag. Searching for that go-to purse? Look no further.
