Unlocking the Secret Behind Dior Prestige Le Micro-Caviar de Rose
From late nights to jet lag and weather changes, the skin struggles to recover. When life rhythms change, the skin is affected – from the epidermis to the heart of the dermis. When cellular renewal slows down, dark circles, under-eye bags and fine lines appear – signs of aging that start to become noticeable. Exhausted skin often shows a deficit in nutrients and an inability to restore itself.
[caption id="attachment_192610" align="alignnone" width="1100"] Dior Prestige Le Micro-Caviar de Rose[/caption]
Introducing the star ingredient of Dior Prestige: Rose de Granville, a legendary wildflower that was discovered on the cliffs of Normandy. Among 250 roses rich in manganese and in essential omegas, just one will produce rosehips. Cultivated in a dedicated Dior Garden in France, the Rose de Granville grows in an open field without fertiliser, pesticides or herbicides. They’re only harvested once a year, in autumn, when they present the strongest concentrations of phytonutrients, sugars, calcium and potassium.
At the heart of Prestige skincare, Rose de Granville – both the rose flower and the rosehip – is the secret to its anti-inflammatory formulas. Test protocols suggested that the Rose de Granville demonstrated a capacity of resistance greatly superior to that of a classical rose.
[caption id="attachment_192611" align="alignnone" width="849"] A moment of pure luxury[/caption]
Today, Dior Science has gone one step further and made a new breakthrough. For the first time, LVMH Recherche took an interest in women who felt their skin was exhausted, stressed and sensitive to changes in weather. It was found that fatigue can induce a deficiency in potassium, essential fatty acids, and cermaides, which in turn affects the ability of skin cells to regenerate and defend themselves from oxidation.
Dior Science rose experts were able to extract all the micronutrients from the heart of the Rose de Granville. This exceedingly rare and luxurious ingredient brims with 22 perfectly pure micronutrients, such as potassium, omegas 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids and manganese to boost damaged skin’s natural repairing and soothing processes.
Infused in Dior Prestige Le Micro-Caviar de Rose, the amalgam of micro-nutrients from the Rose de Granville acts in synergy to restore cellular energy, stop inflammation, stimulate natural soothing mechanisms and boost circulation of nutritive supplies.
As part of the Rose de Granville series, the complementing product to be used alongside Prestige Le Micro-Caviar de Rose is the oil format, Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose. A blend of 20 micro-nutrients that act as precious gems are transmitted from flower to skin. Each bottle houses over 10,000 rose micro-pearls that are responsible for rebalancing the skin and preparing it for the serum and moisturiser in the following steps in the beauty regime. Used daily, the nutritional balance of the skin is synchronised against signs of fatigue, stress, and climate changes.
[caption id="attachment_194381" align="alignnone" width="3000"] 17,000 micro-pearls crafted one by one[/caption]
How to add skin-rejuvenating Rose de Granville to your skincare regime:
1. Prep the skin with Prestige Le Micro-Lotion de Rose
Prep the skin with Prestige Le Micro-Lotion de Rose. Enriched with Rose de Granville minerals and oil, this micro-nutritive pre-lotion combines intense purification and lasting comfort, for long-term hydration.
2. Apply Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose to rebalance the skin
Used as a pre-serum, Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose is a facial oil that delivers the right dose of micro nutrients to the skin. It can be used daily or can be combined with Prestige Le Micro-Caviar de Rose as an intense treatment.
3. Calm skin with Prestige Le Micro-Caviar de Rose
Apply a generous layer of Prestige Le Micro-Caviar de Rose to soothe, regenerate and plump the skin. Each caviar pearl is infused with precious and powerful ingredients, soft and delicate for perfect fusion with the skin. For more intensity, it can be used as a three month treatment to help exhausted skin; as a sleep mask to encourage cellular renewal and giving cells new energy; as an SOS mask to soothe, smooth, repair, and plump areas damaged by stress, weather, flights, skiing and the sun.
4. Massage Skin
Help skin recover by massaging your face from the centre outwards in a circular motion. Start at the chin and move up to the forehead, then move back to the neck.

The Bright Side: Introducing Sisley’s Phyto-Blanc Le Concentré
Clear, even, luminous skin has long been the holy grail of the beauty industry, with many brands going so far as to include dangerous bleaching agents in their facial products. But with advances in technology, the days of adding mercury and hydroquinone to creams and masks are largely over. Now, rather than attacking dark spots and discolouration only after they’ve appeared on the surface of the skin, one French skincare brand has discovered a way to inhibit melanin production at its source.
Researchers at Sisley Laboratories have spent more than 20 years studying skin pigmentation in developing its popular Phyto-Blanc collection. “We’re always searching for harmony in the complexion, a balance of different parameters that together create the appearance of healthy skin,” explains scientific director José Ginestar. “One of the main areas of research is brightening, to fight against melanogenesis and the disruption of melanocytes.”
As Ginestar points out, melanocytes are cells that produce melanin, which is then transported to other layers of the skin and ultimately results in the formation of dark spots. This development of melanin is often caused by environmental factors such as UV aggression and other inflammatory micro-stresses – one reason why SPF and anti-pollution products are so widely recommended. But as Ginestar and his fellow researchers discovered, melanocytes do not act in isolation. They actually communicate with other skin cells, engaging in a kind of “cross talk”. “When the melanosomes (which are charged with melanin) reach the extremity of the dentrite, they transfer the melanin to the keratinocytes,” he says. “At this point, the keratinocytes rise to the surface and we can observe discolouration.”
This four-step process – maturation of the melanosome, melanin synthesis, melanin transport and melanin transfer – occurs throughout the body, with the exception of two places: the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. Palmoplantar whiteness, as the phenomenon is known, is the result of a dermal protein called DKK1. Produced by the fibroblasts in the palms and soles, DKK1 has been identified as a natural inhibitor of melanin production.
[caption id="attachment_190371" align="alignnone" width="983"] The French skincare brand spent two decades finding a way to inhibit melanin production at its source.[/caption]
This ground-breaking discovery led Sisley researchers to ask the natural question: how do we reproduce this phenomenon on the face? After testing thousands of plant extracts, they found the answer in Egyptian Myrobolan – a dry savanna tree that is found across the Sahara in Africa – and the impetus to create an entirely new brightening product.
Phyto-Blanc Le Concentré Pure Bright Activating Serum, which launches worldwide this month, is the first product of its kind that’s able to stimulate the production of DKK1 by non-palmoplantar fibroblasts, effectively preventing melanin from forming in the first place. But that’s not all. Le Concentré also targets dark spots on the surface of the skin as well as each step in the melanin process using a proprietary complex of four active ingredients.
[caption id="attachment_190373" align="alignnone" width="644"] José Ginestar, Scientific Director at Sisley[/caption]
First, pea peptide extract inhibits maturation of the melanosome. Then the organic compound hexylresorcinol works to prevent melanin synthesis while wild thyme extract acts on the transport of the melanin. Finally, vitamin B3 works to block the transfer of melanin to the keratinocytes. Together with Egyptian Myrobolan as well as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory factors, these key ingredients work to treat the “dermal and epidermal neighbourhood” as a whole.
Le Concentré, with its serum-gel texture, is designed to be used morning and evening on the face and neck. Laboratory testing has shown a significant reduction in intensity and yellowness of dark spots after one month of use, and an increase in skin transparency in just 15 days. In fact, luminosity, radiance and clarity all showed improvement in 15 days with more than double the intensity after one month of use.
While Le Concentré has been proven effective at both treating and preventing dark spots, Ginestar says results can only improve when it’s used as part of a complete brightening ritual. “The serum is [designed to be] part of a routine, so when you use all the products the efficacy is better,” he says. “It’s the ritual that allows you to get the most benefits.”
