so you think you can play with the big cats
In Bandhavgarh India, I had the opportunity to visit the national parks and take (multiple) safaris through the tiger reserve. All creatures there are free to roam, with the exception of a few unconnected fence lines intended to deter the big cats from the local villages. We enjoyed the unforgettable experience of sighting several wild tigers, including a couple of cubs. Aside from the awe of their beauty, large cats are truly fascinating creatures. I learned from one of the locals, a tiger that had passed the fence and wandered into the village. On one such occasion, this tiger returned back to the rainforest and over the 20â fence⌠with a full grown bull caught in the grips of his jaw. photography:KRISTINA PETRICK | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | leopard print dress c/o:MVN | leather biker jacket c/0:ALLSAINTS | combat boots:DR. living the life you love
Lugano might just be the most perfect destination. Each year, I have the privilege of traveling to this place to work in our studio. Sometimes, we even get to work outside of the studio. By 5 oâclock, we freed ourselves from the work table littered with magazine clippings. We had been collectively researching the top fashion trends for fall. photography:GAIA GRIGOLETTO | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III |  August and September in Lugano are absolutely beautiful. The destination â Lake Lugano, just a few blocks away from our working studio. The purpose â shooting lifestyle edits for our luxury footwear brand, Naked Feet. After late nights, a determined focus, and hours spilled over different forms of media, we were energized for the release. The air was warm with a hazy overcast. The muted sun created a feeling of comfort. The look had been planned weeks in advance. A ravaging cocktail dress by Elliatt arrived early for the shoot, even before it was available for pre-order at Revolve. There are some perks to being a luxury âŚ

the beauty of white space | change your life with nothing
A break from the mundane, last weekâs adventure was a long-form hike up some treacherous grounds for an editorial shoot for Naked Feet shoes. The brand is a footwear label that specializes in unearthing true comfort through simple, luxury style. The concept for the campaign was unbelievable comfort, so these sacchetto styles were shot unbelievable backdrops â namely the Appalachian mountains. photography:JOSH WOLFE MUSIC | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | luxury shoes:NAKED FEET SHOES  The journey itself was an adventure â from long gravel roads to a broken down car and a few miles hiking up the wrong direction, we never actually made it to the destination. But a loss? Far from it. Not only were we able to capture a beautiful part of nature and fashion colliding, we were able to enjoy the luxury of taking work outside the office breathing in the fresh summer air. Scaling sharp rocks in heels and luxury fashion? Sign me up. Not a soul was spotted up in this remote sanctuary, and the silence was a blessing âŚ
life and luxuries for a minimalist
With life rolling through like a freight train, itâs important to be able to step back and appreciate the small things. Coffee on the porch on a cool morning, the laughter in the eyes of someone you love, a fragrance the reminds you of home â these small moments let us pause. They give us a deep satisfaction of being only in the moment without distractions, capturing every sensation more intensely than we often allow ourselves. These are the moments we get lost in, a treasure that cannot be met for value. In the fashion industry, itâs easy to get caught up forgetting these moments entirely. Operating at jet speed and surrounding yourself with material items, hunting for the latest fashion trends, and skimming through so much content, itâs easy to become too overloaded for truly soaking everything in. Since starting a luxury fashion blog just a few years back, I have learned how fast those treasured moments can pass you by. Striving to lead an alternative minimalist lifestyle, it has become an important part âŚ
I know weâre not supposed to
There are some things which are hard to let go of. Grasping onto whatever strands may be in reach, whether for love or hate, out of desperation or hope â there is something in our nature that resists parting with something that we were once in position of. Material things, people, a grudge, a lifestyle, a memory, a dream. As they pull farther away, our reach lengthens and our grip tightens to fight the loss. In some spaces, this action can be a beautiful thing. Fighting for people we love, hanging on to hope for a better day, believing in a dream â itâs a strength. A willingness to not let go, a pull towards something better or something we hope to achieve, the grip is persistence, and it builds character and personal development. It can also be a crutch. Hanging on to toxic memories, resentment, useless things, scar tissue, the past â it can be a fetter binding us to things which are better to let go of. The grip becomes sweaty, anxious and âŚ
hold on to your hats
Life is a sort of rollercoaster â ups, downs and plenty of twists between. You can never see the end until you get there, and thatâs part of the thrill. Hold on to your hats ladies and gents, youâre in for a ride. Hereâs a little peak into whatâs been going down this week. Currently âen route home from NYC after spending the week working the showroom at FFaNY, Iâve managed to snag a few moments of shut-eye and catch up on a couple lingering projects. Now, time to catch up in my social circle and the fashion blog; excited to share a little bit of recent happenings with you guys. NYC held its old charm, starting with afternoons spent rooftop with cocktails in hand, and ending with some exciting business progressions working on our Spring 2019 line of womenâs shoes. Can you guess what was the best part? ;) After last monthâs trip into Milan and Switzerland with the design team, it was exciting to see some of the conversation pieces come to life âŚ
