Prada and Adidas have unveiled the first instalment of their collaboration
The wait is over. Prada and Adidas have revealed the first results of their surprise collaboration announced earlier this month, which aims to combine modern luxury and sporting pedigree for this year's holiday season. Their joint venture showcases a pair of all-white Superstar sneakers, based on the iconic Adidas model launched in 1969 -- which thus celebrates its 50th anniversary this year -- and a bowling-style carryall handbag.
These pieces are manufactured in Italy by Prada, and are a testament to the know-how and craftsmanship of the Italian luxury house. The premium Superstars are in full-grain leather, while the bag is fashioned from white calfskin. Both creations bear the logos of the two famous brands.
The sneakers and the bags, which will be in a limited edition of 700 numbered pieces, are to be sold together in two-product packs. These will be available from December 4 at a selection of Prada stores around the world, as well as online from Adidas.com and Prada.com. The price has yet to be disclosed, but those who are interested can find out more here.

Prada’s New Capsule Collection Is Tough Enough to Survive the Great Outdoors
The Newest Fashion Power Couple: Prada x adidas
Last month, rumors emerged that Prada was set to collaborate with adidas. Well, the rumors are true. Prada took to its Instagram to showcase an image of a Prada shopping bag with two adidas shoe boxes. From the blue adidas Originals box, we can guess that one pair will be a more lifestyle-focused shoe while the other will be a performance sneaker from the sportswear's main collection. It is still unclear what the shoe will look like, but from what has been whispered around, the collection might be called "adidas Prada Sailing" and will feature two sneaker silhouettes.
Other than an LG collaboration back in 2011, the Italian fashion house is not a brand that is known for its brand partnerships. So some might say that this could be a super unexpected sneaker collab that we've seen in a while. No word on when the sneakers will be officially released, but stick with us for all the upcoming details.

Living the Dream: Eleanor Lam
Arguably Hong Kong’s hottest Instagram export, Eleanor Lam is busy turning her passions into purpose. Discover her secrets to success, why luxury is in the eye of the beholder, and how hassle-free holidays are within your reach.
You have a real passion for travel. Do you just have an adventurous spirit, or did this love for new experiences come from somewhere else?
I grew up in Hong Kong but I’ve had the luxury and the means to travel from a young age, with my parents and with my family. It’s not just something that I do, it’s now a part of me, it is a genuine passion. To me, travelling is not just a way to getaway, it’s also about learning and experiencing new cultures; it’s about pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. There are so many different ways to enjoy travelling, too. Where you make your own plans and navigate a new place yourself, or when it’s taken out of your hands and you’re so well looked after that you don’t have to think about anything. Hassle-free travelling can be the best!
Like an all-inclusive luxury cruise.
I love when there’s literally everything you need at your fingertips – anything you could want is at your disposal. Some people aren’t so enthusiastic about planning a whole holiday itinerary, and cruising makes it so easy. Not only that, but when there’s a whole range of shops, restaurants, a variety of entertainment, and for all ages – it's a treat for the whole family! Put me on a cruise, on a yacht – it's the perfect summer vacation to me. There’s just so much beauty out there.

What’s left on your travel bucket list?
One goal I have that I haven’t been able to tackle yet is to travel on my own someday. People I know who have done solo travels have come back to tell me how enriching it has been. That’s definitely a goal for me. When you push yourself out of your comfort zone, beautiful things can happen.
Your social media feeds are peppered with luxury experiences – from exotic travels, to beauty and fashion events. How have your passions helped you to realise your dreams?
I guess not everyone can find their purpose in life right off the bat; there are going to be a lot of passions and only one purpose. So, for me, it’s been about combining my passions to build out one goal. I like fashion, makeup, beauty, all elements of ‘lifestyle’, so I've been able to put all those together and create my own purpose. It's important to not stay too rigid; you have to be open to all kinds of options, be open to changes and accepting adversities.
Where do you get your inspiration to achieve your goals?
It’s not one person or thing that inspires me; sometimes it’s someone I’ve met, it’s something I’ve heard or seen, or even perhaps something I've eaten – the list is endless! Literally every day I wake up, and something new can inspire me. It’s an incredible thing, to be open to these new experiences and find inspiration anywhere and everywhere. Also, my parents inspire me in different ways; my dad has a very strong work ethic, while my mum sacrificed a lot to help her children.

You have an incredibly determined approach to life and finding what makes you happy. Where does your drive come from?
My parents always said to me, “Follow your passion and it will lead to your purpose.” And, for me, your passion is something that you love to do, and your purpose is your mission in life. So, it’s about finding what you love and turning it into your life’s mission, to really keep you happy. And, on top of that, they always told me to focus – that without heart or drive, you’ll never reach your full potential. It’s not about picking a job for the money, it’s about feeling satisfied in your work.
Whether you’re at home or abroad, what is the key to maintaining your health and wellness?
I think what’s most important is catching up on your sleep. After I’ve been travelling, waking up in my own bed is just the best thing ever. Also, I have realised that I never drink enough water. So, when I come back from some time away, I drink plenty of water and tea, to really help hydrate and look after myself and my skin.

#PrestigeItBags with Rachel Allison
Rachel Allison, the delightful daughter of fashion designer Sally Koeswanto, models the fall/winter it bags for Prestige.
Rachel Allison arrives at Alila SCBD with her glamorous fashion designer mom Sally Koeswanto. They’re both wearing denim shorts with sneakers, looking more like sisters than mother and daughter.
Sally is proud that Prestige has invited her little girl, who is about to turn 18, to model the fall/winter it bags from some of our favourite brands: Coach, Dior, Fendi, Hermès, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Off White, Prada, Simon Miller and Valentino.
Rachel seems shy at first under the lights. But with mom on hand to give her confidence she become more relaxed as the shoot goes on, dealing assuredly with everything from the classy Louis Vuitton Mini Dauphine to the eye-catching Off White Jitney 2.8 Cash Inside. Shoot done, Rachel sits down for a chat. Excerpts:

How do you feel about bags?
I love them. I’m more of a bag person than a shoe person. I love to mix and match my outfits according to my bags. It’s a really fun way to spice up the way you dress and look on a daily basis.
I like bags that are small and practical. Currently, I’m in love with the Dior Saddle because of its unique and fun shape. In spite of its uncommon shape, I find it quite practical because the bag is big enough to take a lot of stuff.
There’s also the classic Chanel bag, because it’s really timeless and beautiful. You can wear it to every occasion and it looks perfect on everyone.
[caption id="attachment_166006" align="aligncenter" width="819"] FENDI MINI BAGUETTE IN PURPLE SEQUIN BAG; TOP FENDI[/caption]
Do you remember your first designer bag?
I do! It was a Burberry, from the Kids collection. I’m not really sure what the occasion was, but as far as I can remember I got it when I was in second grade. It’s a cute little handbag. I still have it. It’s my precious Holy Grail bag.
[gallery ids="165968,165969,165967"]
What are your favorite labels?
It has to be Dior to start with. I love the variety, from classic and feminine to playful. Especially since Maria Grazia Chiuri took over as Creative Director, there’s a touch of femininity on every design.
[caption id="attachment_165966" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] LOUIS VUITTON MINI DAUPHINE BAG, JACKET AND DRESS LOUIS VUITTON[/caption]
Who taught you about style?
Definitely my mother! Ever since I was a kid I looked at how she dressed and styled herself. Until now, she’s my biggest inspiration. Now I’m finding my own style. Both of us may look alike, but we have different tastes. My mother’s style is daring and edgy, while I’m more casual and feminine. We complement each other’s styles and that makes us look cool together.
You just graduated from high school. What’s next?
I’m going to study for a degree in International Political Economy at City, University of London. There’s no such thing as a perfect world while a lot of issues, such as poverty, racial discrimination and religious tolerance, remain unresolved. But we all know that there’s a lot of potential to move forward and solve social problems. I enjoy watching documentaries on social issues on Netflix and YouTube, and I look forward to learning more about them at university.

You just appeared in Jaz’s “Katakan” music video. Tell us about it.
I got a message through Instagram from a music producer asking me if I would like to be a model in the Jaz’s next video. I thought, why not? I’d never been in a music video or done any acting before. The experience was total fun. I learned a lot and I’m really grateful to have been part of it.
What do you do in your free time?
Nothing much at the moment. As the time to go to England to study approaches, I like spending time at home with my family and our dogs. This quality time with the people I care about the most is important to me. It’s vital to treasure these moments.
On the other hand, when I get the chance I love to travel and immerse myself in the culture and history of the countries I visit. It’s all about widening your perspectives on life.
