happiness happenings

With thoughts, ideas, and inspirations whirling through my head  – one reigns supreme: I am so thankful and humbled by God and His goodness. I had originally planned this post to be revolved around the happenings of NYC Fashion Week, glittering parties, incredible people that were met, and experiences that were had. (Don’t worry, all of that in posts to come). But first allow me to gush on some other happiness happenings. (oh and the Happy Socks btw – purely a perfect coincidence) This week marked my second in the NYC office, and makes for just over a month of my career switch. The work space was buzzing, and oceans of words cannot express how happy I am to be surrounded by passionate hard-working people, and a group of brilliant leaders to guide us into a new chapter of a beautiful story – one which I hope never ends. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | ribbed knit c/o:SAMMY DRESS | destroyed denim c/o:BERSHKA | cuffs:THPSHOP | timepiece c/o:CHARLIZE (get 15% off with code: dayinmydreams15 )| …

the luxe life

Current situation, livin’ it up in my home space this week, feeling incredibly grateful for people that I love, a job that I look forward to, and ample packages arriving in the mail every week #spoiled #bloggerlife Planning for my alternate week at the New York office next Monday, and do you know what I realized… it’s going to be NYC FASHION WEEK! Packing just got a whole lot more complicated. Couldn’t be more excited to be surrounded by the festivities. I’m one lucky girl with invitations to a couple of events I plan on attending, especially excited to be joining the awesome Bloglovin’ team for a night out courtesy of the king of luxury, Ferragamo. (seriously, WHAT am I going to wear). My suitcase is going to be huge, just sayin. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | jumper c/o:A’GACI | cross body bag c/o:LUXE BLOGGER | woven bracelet c/o:CAROLYN COLBY | timepiece c/o:CHARLIZE | gold earcuffs c/o:CAROLYN COLBY | sunnies c/o:FINLAY & CO | pumps c/o:A’GACI | love you to the moon print c/o:MELO & …

a week in review

So much has happened in the past week, I hardly know where to start. NYC is now my home away from home. The first week and a half working the new job is officially under the belt, last week spent at the home office in NYC, and this week the pleasure of working from home. Quite honestly, I don’t know which I prefer. The flashing lights, exciting nights, and endless new adventures of the city will always make me feel alive. But then again, being able to work in my PJ’s isn’t bad either… In review, I’m grateful for the opportunity to have the best of both worlds for the time being, and plan to spend a great deal of the new year practicing appreciation for all of the many blessings in life – especially the people who have truly impacted me in so many beautiful ways. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | white denim c/o:PARKER SMITH | kicks:ADIDAS ORIGINALS | hair extensions c/o:IRRESISTIBLE ME | iphone case c/o:GMYLE | rosegold bar ring c/o:STAR HARVEST …

coffee break into new year

Christmas past, my gaze is now set to my favorite day of the year – New Years Day. A feeling of old burdens shedding off like dust blowing into the wind, it’s time for another re-birth, and the change has already begun. Beginning the first week of January, I will be transitioning into my new role in creative content for a marketing agency in NYC. I wait on the days with baited breath, and these moments between hardly feel like reality. Embracing the best of both worlds, I’ll be spending half of my time in the city, and have the privilege of working from the comfort of home alternate weeks. Choosing to take some time off between positions, I’ll be spending the week setting up a home office and streamlining my travel essentials. sunday morning

Stillness truly is a commodity one should treasure. And one of the few times it shows itself is during the first moments of the day. Though I’m not a proclaimed morning person (quite the opposite actually), once I manage to pry open my eyes, soak in the light, and indulge in my first cup of coffee – those moments that follow are actually quite pleasant when the day’s rush can be put on hold. The view of the city below keeps my mind wandering on dreams of the future and memories of days past. And weekends at home – don’t even get me started. My daytime wardrobe is lucky if it finds me. Lazy you say? Comfy, I answer. #truestory photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | bralette c/o:TRUE & CO | cuff c/o:MADELEINE ISSING | rings c/o:KINDLING & COMPANY | geo necklace c/o:KINDLING & COMPANY | hotel:W HOTEL Another great wake-me-up in the am – yoga. what happiness is made of

Hello, and happy Saturday. Had the most wonderful past weekend with an impromptu trip to NYC to visit a good friend. All 48 hours held every bit of bliss one could ask for – from city sights to tasty bites, complete with a luxury stay in Union Square’s W Hotel. Spending these better moments in life always brings to mind a thought: what exactly is happiness made of. Is it a formula of positive experiences combined in the right moments, soaking in the luxuries life has to offer? Is it something that can be created and re-created if the solution is found? I believe happiness is many things. But above all, it is a choice – the eyes through which you see the world, and spending it with those you love. Thank you friends, for just such a weekend. Will fill you all in on more details from the trip in later posts. In the mean time, all my wishes to each of you that your weekend and days to follow are spent in happiness. Apparently feeling all warm and …

faded

The elephant keeps walking as the dogs keep barking. Something they don’t teach you in business class. This adage from India came from my partner in crime, and I will continue to keep the words in heart. With the growth of success, comes an onslaught of negativity. And no, I’m not talking about constructive criticism that helps you grow. I’m talking about the truly nasty, nonfactual, and unprofessional based nagging and manipulation of situations with seemingly no purpose or cause. You’ve probably worked with a few such people in your life, and if you continue to grow in a path of success, you can probably expect a lot more. While the spirit’s first reaction may be to reflect the attitude, the best advise I’ve received: The elephant keeps walking as the dogs keep barking. The fact of the matter is, you’ll never be able to train the dogs. Instead, an elephant walks steadily through the streets, seemingly unaffected by the barking around them. Focus on your goals and how to achieve them. The rest around you, is just noise fading away. photography:KUNDAN …
